Hi, I'm Jess

Doctoral Student in Educational Studies at Boston University & Nationally Certified School Psychologist

I'm a special education and general education teacher turned school psychologist and researcher-in-training. I care broadly about the implementation of science-based practices in classroom spaces, the dismantling of harmful practices and processes in education, and the creation of supportive and inclusive education systems.

Teacher

I'm a trained special & elementary educator and specialized in teaching students across disability categories (cross-categorical). Because of my experiences, I have an awareness of (and commitment to) school-based work. I am now also an educator at the higher-education level; I teach education and special education courses at Boston University.

School Psychologist

I received my training as a School Psychologist from the University of Washington in Seattle. I am a currently practicing school psychologist in Massachusetts and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). I have experience working with children from birth through high school, as well experience with district-level consultation, program evaluation, and systems implementation and improvement.

Researcher

I'm developing my skills as a researcher by pursuing my PhD at Boston University. I am passionate about practicing rigorous science that can be applied to practical settings for the benefit of children, families, and (ultimately) communities. My research is conducted within the Wheelock Institute for the Science of Education (WISE), the National Center on Improving Literacy, Wheelock Educational Policy Center, and with support from the AI in Education Initiative.
